The birth of a benign ATOMIC device.

Al Teller, famous for his brilliant corporate career in the music industry (formerly MCA Music Entertainment Group Chief) has announced his official comeback into the music arena with the opening of ATOMIC POP (www.atomicpop.com). The new website is one of the major fragments of a slowly-growing puzzle that views the music industry in its traditional distribution form as obsolete. A great opportunity is offered on the web to market music media and lifestyle products. Teller sought such opportunity by creating a music cyber-environment/store where visitors can not only audition and buy music, but they are given a full multimedia experience. A true recreational cyberlounge without the physical implications. This phenomenon, as Teller illustrates, is an inevitable step in the rapidly-changing music industry that will not only ease and amplify the distribution channels, but it represents the base of COMPRESSION RECORDS philosophy: get rid of the middle man, if he's not willing to dance to the tune. Artists are audience, and audience is made of artists. Who better than these two driving forces can define the course of music and its trends? In this direction, the gap between the artists and the audience is narrowed, the choices are multiplied, technology is the tool that allows everybody to get instantly acquainted with the contemporary music scene. This way artists are in control of catering to a public that identifies itself with the artists rather than cold inexperienced executives dictating the rules.

On February 22nd, a few days after the site's grand opening, Atomic Pop is broadcasting a one-hour world premiere video of its first-established act, Blondie. There you can view performances and audition music, old and new. Also, L7, the heavy metal band, will make their single release exclusively for Atomic Pop. Visitors will be able to purchase the music via a simple download.

Parallel to the web site, Atomic Pop will be pursuing traditional ways of marketing and advertising, adding to strategic partnerships with such companies as Alliance Entertainment, Art Rock, Urban Decay and Hyperwerks.

Teller realizes the importance of the artists' role, and, unlike conventional record companies, he's open to found partnerships with bands and solo acts that are tired of the corporate tyranny. For those artists who have an album in their closet (or in their pocket), watch for Teller: he might be the ticket to your fame.
